Gary Michael "Mike" Bell

Gary Michael "Mike" Bell Sr., 67, of Newburgh, died on the morning of Friday, June 8, 2007 at Gateway Hospital. He died of complications from COPD and congestive heart failure.

He was born to Gladys and Filbert Bell on July 20, 1939, whom are now both deceased.

Mike graduated from Bosse High School in 1957.

He was a member of Local 16 Electrician Union for 42 years retiring five years ago at the age of 62.

Mike was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ.

He enjoyed building and fixing things and spent much time working on home projects.

Mike loved to play golf.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was loved by many for his quiet, kind heart, and always thought more of everyone else rather than himself.

He was a religious man who tried to always lead a good life and now will be with God.

Mike is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janice "Jan" (Jarboe) Bell; son, Gary Michael "Mike" Bell and wife, Paula; granddaughters, Lyndsey Bell, and Whittney Carpenter and husband, Andy, and their son, Ethan Michael Carpenter, all of Newburgh; brother, John Bell and wife, Pat, of Evansville; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Joseph W. Fraccaro, with burial at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Tuesday from 1 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
