Lowell Robert Weber

Lowell 1   Lowell 2012

Lowell Robert Weber, 69, of Evansville, Indiana passed away at his residence on Saturday, September 29, 2012.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Belinda Weber, daughter of Forrest C. and Ellen "Belle" Condict, daughters Nikki K. (Chuck) Weber Brueggeman of Brazil, IN, and Kristi K. (Bill) Weber Moad of Louisville, KY, grandson Bradey William Moad, brother Dr. Emil Weber (Jan), sister Marlene E Agee (Gene), nieces and nephews, David (Cheryl Hollingsworth) Agee, Mark (Jennifer) Agee, Eric (Bilijana) Weber, Letetia (Curt) Weber Petty, Kimber (Jeff) Weber Scarlett and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Mildred (Werremeyer) Weber, niece Lisa Nelson (Cary) and nephew Kevin Agee (Tina).

Lowell grew up with the family business (Emil Weber Hardware, at the corner of Weinbach Avenue and Division Street) on what was then "The Far East Side" of Evansville. He attended Harper Grade School and Bosse High School (Class of '61). Band and orchestra, math, dinner and dancing and having a great time with friends and classmates were his passions.

He returned to Evansville in 1963 to allow his father to prepare for retirement. He took the full service lawn equipment, hardware and housewares business and expanded it to include a complete line of fireplaces and wood burning stoves, including their installations and accessories, gourmet cookware and accessories and cake and candy making supplies. Emil Weber, Inc. closed October 1984 due to the Lloyd Expressway project.

More recently, he was involved in commercial real estate development and maintenance in Evansville, Vincennes, Terre Haute and Columbus, Indiana. He valued the many long term business relationships and friendships which developed over the years.

We will always cherish our memories of his love, generosity, humor, sense of fair play and honesty. The thought of his trademark pipe and straw hat for mowing the grass or his driving cap while he drove his Corvette will always make us smile. Forever casual, he deemed his shorts, plaid shirts and pulled up white socks appropriate for most any occasion.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville and will continue on Wednesday, October 3. from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services will be on Wednesday, October 3 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend David Peterson officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Evansville Rescue Mission, 300 S.E. Martin Luther King Jr., Blvd., Evansville, IN 47713, for their Thanksgiving dinner or your favorite charity.

I'm so glad that we were in town when Lowell passed away. He meant so much to me and taught me so much. Emil Weber Hardware Store was the best job I ever had. I have told many people that you don't know what a good job you have until it's not there anymore. We were all family there. I had to smile when I read that he still had that pipe and still wears plaid shirts. It was good to know he still had that sense of humor. He will be missed. My thoughts and love goes out to the family.
Love, Millie Chandler, Frostproof, Florida
